Obituary

Wayne F. Weiler, 76, of Aurora, IL passed away on January 28, 2025. Wayne was born on April 17, 1948, to Bernard and Lillian Weiler in Aurora. After Wayne graduated from Holy Cross Seminary, he went on to study at Loras College before earning his Juris Doctor at the University of Notre Dame.
Wayne started practicing law in Aurora, eventually opening his own firm in 1988. Wayne dedicated much of his legal career toward the service of his community, providing counsel and representation to those who would not have had access to expert legal services without his tenacious generosity.
Wayne was a longtime parishioner at Annunciation Parish, and was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus.
Wayne and Patricia Weiler (nee Schmidt) met while in college and married in 1971. Over their 53 years of marriage they raised and he is survived by their eight children: Adam (Catherine) Weiler, Laura (Matthew) Mountin, Joseph (Laura) Weiler, Benjamin (Stephanie) Weiler, Rachel (Timothy) Ossmo, Jacob (Marjorie) Weiler, Jesse (Kimberly) Weiler, and Annie (Nate) Windler. He is also survived by his twenty six grandchildren and his siblings Julie (Michael) Garafalo, Bernard (Maureen) Weiler, Susan Weiler, and Frank (Cheryl) Weiler.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents as well as his siblings Warren Weiler and Mary (Jack) Mayer.
Wayne was incredibly proud of his family and loved being surrounded by his grandkids in a house full of love and laughter.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 3, 2025 at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Annunciation Church at 10:00 AM; Abbot Joel Rippinger O.S.B. will officiate with interment in Marywood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, IL 60506. 630-631-5500.
