Violet M Dolatowski, 99, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024 in Florida. She was born on March 23, 1924 in Naperville, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Lois (Simkins) Wirtanen.
Violet was a lifelong resident of Naperville and a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She loved the home in Naperville that she and her husband Chester built. She was employed at Kroehler Furniture Store in Naperville where she covered buttons for upholstery by hand.
She was a wonderful hostess and love entertaining at her home. She loved animals especially cats. She was an avid bowler and was a member of several teams over the years. She enjoyed roller skating, romance novels and traveling. She was a member of the Bomb Group with her husband and looked forward to the yearly trip to many destinations especially Hawaii.
She is survived by her nieces, Rita (David) McIntyre and Denise (Ron) Mroz; close family friends, Stephen (Dina) Wirth, Gail (John) Petree, and David (Linda) Wirth; many cousins.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Chester J. Dolatowski in 1991; her parents, her significant other, Frank Wirth; eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral mass will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 36 N Ellsworth St, Naperville, IL 60540; with interment at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois. 630-631-5500.
