Obituary

Violet Audrey Davis ("Audrey"), of Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 15, 2024.
Audrey was born in Deer Park Twp. on December 17, 1933 to Lawrence and Mary Stanford. After attending Serena High School, Audrey married her best friend, Ray Glenn Davis ("Glenn"). Audrey and Glenn went on to grow and nurture a large and close-knit family.
Audrey worked for Sears Roebuck Co until 1978, but was also well known for her work as a Food Manager at Oswego High School. Students will long remember her smiling face and cheerful demeanor walking the halls. Audrey was an avid Cubs fan and the game was always on in her kitchen as she moved about making (the best) peanut butter fudge and other treats to share with family and friends.
Audrey was deeply involved in her church and youth ministry. She was a member of the Family Bible Church in Aurora and often helped at church camp, organizing programs for the youth, and spreading God's love to all. Audrey loved children and her eyes lit up when her grandkids and great grandkids came to visit. Audrey enjoyed sewing and painting and was always eager to make aprons and baby carriers for her grandchildren to play with.
Audrey is survived by Glenn, her beloved husband of 70 years. She is survived by her children; Chris (John) Mihalka of Gilbert, AZ, Bill (Lisa) Davis of LaPorte, IN, Sandy (Rick) Oliver of Gilbert, AZ, and Rodney (Debbie) Davis, of Hinckley, IL.
Her true joy was in watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow older. She had seven grandchildren; Jennifer (Corey) Lopez, Amy (Jesse) Jazwinski, Michael (Jennifer) Mihalka, Kristopher (Sara) Davis, Mark (Angie) Davis, Sarah (Jacob) Randolph, and Matthew Davis. Audrey was blessed with fourteen great grandkids; Brayden Lopez, Cooper Lopez, Juliana Jazwinski, Lillian Jazwinski, Carter Jazwinski, Addison Davis, Jordan Davis, Avery Davis, Aubrey Amabile, Jack Mihalka, Claire Mihalka, Harper Perdue, Oliver Randolph, and Jaxton Randolph. Audrey babysat her neighbor's daughter, Destiny, throughout her youth and loved her as family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and four siblings; Leo, Kenny, Isabelle, and Betty.
Cry not, for Audrey is safe and warm in the Lord's arms and is smiling down on us all.
