Timothy J. Gaughan, Jr., 44, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021. He was born in Oak Lawn, Illinois, December 7, 1976, the son of Timothy Sr. and Mary Kay (Knight) Gaughan.
TJ had the typical "cocktail party" personality of William Syndrome and charmed all he met. He taught us love, patience, kindness, humor and strength.
TJ was loved by many. There were no strangers to TJ, only friends he hadn't met yet! He touched the lives of so many people.
He loved his antique marbles, lighthouses, firefighters, pow wows and his Irish heritage. He beat the weatherman in broadcasting severe weather to his family and friends and waited every Tuesday for the tornado siren test. He loved his family, God, and his Catholic faith.
TJ fought through many serious illnesses like a champ and was the victor many times. He lived his life to fullest every day. He was, indeed, our special angel.
Though TJ has lost this final battle, his legacy will live on through his gift of tissue donation to Gift of Hope.
Survivors include his parents; brothers, Patrick (Raelanda) Gaughan, Michael Gaughan and Daniel (Milagros) Gaughan; his Godchildren, Olivia Harper Gaughan and Jack Higgins; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was the beloved first grandson of the late Dave and Jean Gaughan and the late Dick and Joan Knight and nephew of the late Danny Knight.
