Thomas E. Nortman, 85, of Aurora, died Sunday, July 18, 2021, in his home. He was born January 28, 1936, in Black River Falls, WI, the son of Eldbridge and Anna (Krapata) Nortman.
Thomas married Beverly Hartman in Lee, Illinois, July 30, 1966. She preceded him in death July 18, 2018. He was also preceded in death by his brother Ron Nortman and his parents.
Thomas was a resident of Aurora and a member of St. Rita of Cascia Church in Aurora for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #400.
Thomas was a Veteran of the Army, serving during peace time at home and overseas in Germany from 1958-1960. He then served in the National Guard from 1960-1962.
He worked at Caterpillar in Montgomery for over 30 years prior to his retirement.
Thomas was dedicated to helping the elderly by assisting in various handyman jobs with his beloved John Deere Tractor including lawn mowing and snow removal.
Survivors include three daughters Dawn (Dan) Moore of North Aurora, Tammy (Eduardo) Maldonado and Julie Nortman both of Aurora; six grandchildren Nicole Nortman, Annabelle Moore, Melina Moore, Ariel Maldonado, Madalyn Maldonado, and Quinnlan Maldonado; three great grandsons William Mollohan IV, Thomas D. Nortman, and Raymond Francis Nortman; his brother John (Carol) Nortman of Black River Falls, WI; his sister Marge Mattson of Rochester, NY; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He will be fondly missed by his Belgian Schipperke, Coal.
Funeral services will begin Monday, July 26, 2021 at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 AM. Fr. Alex Parafina will officiate with interment and Military Honors to follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery in Aurora.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 25, from 2:00 until 6:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois. 630-631-5500. The family requests that masks be worn to the visitation and service.
