Dr. Thomas J. Burke, 92, of Aurora, IL and Estero, FL, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023 in Estero, FL. He was born July 27th, 1931 in Franklin Park, IL.

He is survived by two sons Jim (Colleen) Burke and John (Carla) Burke; five grandchildren Madie, Tommy, Jimmy, Morgan (David) Crawley, and Nick; his sister Sr. Priscilla Burke and his nieces and nephews especially Carl, Nora, Anne, and Bob Scharf, and John Dennis Burke.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Ellen (Givens) Burke; his parents Nora (Mulcahy) and James Burke; two brothers James and Jack Burke; three sisters Mary and Eileen Burke and Anita Burke Scharf; and his sister-in-law Theresa Givens and his brother-in-law Fr. John Givens.

Tom was a retired physician who was an ears, nose and throat specialist. He had offices in both Aurora and Naperville for over 30 years, resulting in countless former patients remembering Dr. Burke. He was a graduate of Loyola Medical School (Stritch), Loyola University and Fenwick High School.

He was an avid golfer who played into his 90's. Tom was also an accomplished bridge player who attained the Life Master designation. Tom loved a good bet on the golf course, always had a good joke to tell, and loved getting together with friends and family.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 10:00am at Holy Angels Church. Fr. Michael Lavan will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
