Terry Martin Hartmann, 86, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Batavia, IL, Lac du Flambeau, WI and Naples, FL passed away peacefully at home on the morning of May 27, 2026. Terry was born on March 22, 1940 in Aurora, IL to Robert Martin Hartmann and Delight Mary (Friebele) Hartmann. Terry grew up in Aurora, IL where he graduated from Marmion Military Academy. He went into the family trucking business which he and his family grew into a Midwest Regional LTL Carrier. Terry served in a number of volunteer leadership positions over the years. He was a Past President of the Illinois Trucking Association, the Illinois State VP to the American Trucking Associations, Past President of the Aurora Country Club, Past President of the Batavia Boosters. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, in-law and friend to many. One of his most precious times was being with his grandchildren at Disney World. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
Terry is survived by his loving wife Barbara (Foster) Hartmann, his sons and daughters-in-law, Steven (Rochelle) Hartmann, Timothy (Paulette) Hartmann, Bruce (Mary) Hartmann, Robert Hartmann and Bradford Hartmann, along with 13 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He also is survived by his four siblings, Sandra Basista, Ken (Patricia) Hartmann, Debbie (Rusty) Erickson, and Nancy (Matthew) Cory along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Martin Hartmann and Delight Mary (Friebele) Hartmann, and one grandson Daniel Francis Hartmann.
Terry loved spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed golfing prior to the onset of his Alzheimer's. He loved sports and enjoyed cheering on the Bears, White Sox and the Fighting Illini. He loved being engaged in his work, his industry and his community and did all he could to improve their standing.
There will be a wake on Thursday June 25, 2026 at the Daleiden Mortuary at 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, IL 60506 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday June 26, 2026 at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 2300 West Main Street, Batavia, IL 60510.
