Shirley Mae Carpenter, 79, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Shirley was born on May 25, 1944 in Aurora, the daughter of Earl and Bertha (Pitz) Carpenter. She was employed for many years at Mooseheart and Tillers Nursing Home.
A kind, thoughtful, and caring person, Shirley enjoyed mastering word search puzzles, playing bingo, and watching classic TV. She is cherished and will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Sharon Exline; nephews, Jeff Exline, Steve (Dorothy Exline), and Chris (Jenniffer) Exline; nieces, Julie Carpenter and Kristen (Kris) Wampole.

Funeral Mass will begin Friday, October 6, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 701 S. Eola Road in Aurora. Inurnment will be private.
Visitation will be Friday, October 6, 2023 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at The church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
