Shirlee Ann Fichtel, 92, of Aurora passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born June 13, 1931 in Aurora, IL.
Shirlee was a 1949 graduate of Madonna High School and member of Annunciation Parish for over 50 years. She was the owner of Her Majesty's Bridal for several years. In 1985, Shirlee began her successful real estate career until she retired in 2015. During her spare time, Shirlee was a frequent and vocal spectator at her children and grandchildren's extra-curricular activities. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo with family and friends. Family, friends, faith and service were most important to her.
She is survived by her children Dave (Lynn) Fichtel, Julie (Joe) Chivari, Kathy (Ray) Rehberg, Tim (Jeannie) Fichtel, Ellen (Greg) Peters, and Amy (Steve) Schwartz; her grandchildren Melissa Rehberg, Chad (Erin) Rehberg, Jessica (Ryan) Crabbe, Elizabeth (Michael) Hafertepe, Scott Peters, Emilee Dennelly, Anne (Brian) Popek, Stacey (Stephen) Taylor, Rebecca (Matt) Johnson, Sean Fichtel, Mark Peters, Ethan Chivari, Christopher (Amy) Fichtel, Neal Schwartz and Will Schwartz; her great grandchildren Caden and Harrison Rehberg, Finlay, Quinn and Cormac Hafertepe, Brooklyn Dennelly, Isla and Ruby Crabbe, Max and Reese Popek and Emery Taylor; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Cheryl and Florent Vervaet.
She was preceded in death by her husband Neal in 2019 and her son Christopher in infancy.
Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 10:00am at Annunciation Parish. Fr. Joel Rippinger, OSB will officiate with interment at Marywood Cemetery.
