Sharon M. Poss, age 79, of Aurora, IL, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Batavia, IL.

Sharon was born February 15, 1942 in Aurora, IL. She was united in marriage to Donald E. Poss September 9, 1961 at St. Joseph Church in Aurora. Together Sharon and Donald ran Poss Petroleum until Don's passing in 1994.

Sharon was a devoted member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Sugar Grove. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and traveling but most of all being a grandmother. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her two children, Lisa (Mark) Spangler and Eric (Christa) Poss; her five grandchildren, Luke Spangler, Leah Spangler, Alec Poss, Ava Poss, and Abigal Poss; her brother-in-law, Eugene DuSell; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Poss; her parents, Frank and Cecilia (Schuster) Straka; her sister, Sandra DuSell and her brother Gerald Straka in infancy.

Memorial mass will be offered Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Sugar Grove; Fr. Dan Peters will officiate with inurnment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Aurora.

A memorial visitation will be held Friday, November 26, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, Aurora, IL. 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, IL, 630-631-5500.
