Ruthie Lee Toma, 87, of Oswego, passed away Monday, December 02, 2024 at Rush-Copley Medical Center.
She was born July 02,1937 in Aurora, IL where she grew up and raised her six children.
Ruthie was beyond generous and always made sure her family and friends came first. She was a loving mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother and a beautiful soul who would help anyone. Her laugh and smile were contagiously
infectious and her blue eyes lit up every room she walked into. She enjoyed traveling and gardening, and especially loved spending time
with her family and friends. She lived life to the fullest and never took anything for granted. She was a warrior.

Ruthie will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Steven Hilgen, Todd Hilgen (Myrtle), Monique Hilgen-Guyton (Ray), Brent Hilgen (Sherrie),
Brian "Cubby" Hilgen, and Joel Hilgen (Steve Beck); 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry D. Toma; parents Frieda (Runge) and Clifford Smith; her brother Clifford Smith; and her sister Patricia Larson

As Ruthie would have wanted it, there will be a Celebration of Life Party for her on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm at her son, Brian's home, 960 State Route 25, Oswego, IL 60543.
