With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Rosemary Kent, a beloved mother, dedicated nurse, cherished grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Rosemary illuminated our lives with love and compassion, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and selfless devotion. Her memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Born on August 21, 1938, Rosemary was a woman of extraordinary strength, unwavering resilience, and boundless love. She graduated from Madonna High School in 1956 and completed her nursing training at St. Charles Nursing School in 1959. Throughout her distinguished 45-year career, she touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on family, friends, and the patients she cared for. As a mother, Rosemary poured her heart and soul into nurturing her family, creating a sanctuary of love where laughter and support flourished. Her wisdom and positive encouragement shared with family and friends was unwavering. Her love knew no bounds, and her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Professionally, Rosemary dedicated herself to the noble profession of nursing, providing comfort and healing with a gentle touch and compassionate spirit. Her commitment to the well-being of others earned her respect and admiration from colleagues and patients alike. Nursing was not just a profession for Rosemary; it was a calling that she pursued with unmatched dedication. One of Rosemary's many talents were her culinary skills which she loved to share with friends and family. Family holidays were cherished times for sharing an amazing meal. She loved to garden and adorned her home and church with vibrant floral displays. She had a talent and love of music, instilled through voice lessons as a child from the nuns at St. Nicholas Church. She shared her love of music by singing in the choir at Holy Angels Church and St. Nicholas Church and also by sharing her opera tickets with friends and family.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and Paul Hilger, her brother Paul Jr. "Bud" Hilger, and her sister Janet (Harry) Linden. She is survived by her sister Diana (Frank) Mylan, her children Mike (Jean) Kent and David (Denise) Kent, and her grandchildren, Ryan Kent, Rachel (Eric) Brown, Dominic Kent, and Lauren Kent and by her sister-in-law Jean Hilger.
Memorial visitation with family will be held on March 8th at 11am at Holy Angels Church, Aurora, IL. with the funeral mass following at 12pm.
