Obituary

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Rogan Edward Kirkover, who left us on July 25, 2024, at the age of 44, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. Rogan, born on July 14, 1980, in Aurora, IL, to Edward Kirkover Jr. and Margaret (Theis) Snyder, was a beloved father, son, brother, and friend. His devoted sister, Kimberly, and the mother of his two beautiful daughters, Tania, were by his side through his final days.
Rogan's family will always remember him for his love of fishing. From the moment he got his hands on a rod, he found pure joy out on the water. Whether casting into a quiet lake or taking it easy by a river, fishing was where he felt most at home.
He had two young daughters, Eva and Macie, who were his pride and joy. Eva's boundless energy and Macie's bright smile brought him so much happiness. His favorite times were spent teaching them to fish and sharing laughs. Rogan's memory lives on in Eva and Macie, as well as the special moments they had together.
Rogan will be remembered for his passion for fishing, his great love for his daughters, and the unmistakable, infectious laugh that was uniquely his. Rogan is survived by his daughters Eva and Macie (Tania Frankovich); his sister Kimberly (Mike) Gerdes and nephew Grant; aunt Kyle-Marie (Jeff) Dea; stepfather Leroy Snyder; step-sister Kristy (Justin) Sifford and nephews Ryland and Wyatt. He also leaves behind many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly. Rogan is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Kirkover Jr. and Margaret (Theis) Snyder, Uncle Fred Theis, and grandparents Raymond and Anita Theis.
We invite you to celebrate Rogan's life on Saturday, August 3, 2024. The family will receive guests from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY located at 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, IL 60506. A service will commence at 11:30 am. His burial will be private. The family invites you to join them for a lunch reception from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at the Phoenix Club located at 515 Phoenix Ct., Aurora, IL 60505. This will be a time for family and friends to gather and share their memories and fishing stories about Rogan.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given to Rogan's daughters, Eva and Macie. Checks can be made out to Kimberly Gerdes and sent to Daleiden Mortuary.
