Robert F. Weis, 94, of Montgomery, IL., passed away on July 20, 2024 after a lifetime of joy and service. He was born August 25, 1929, in Aurora, Ill., to Fredrick and Magdalena (Grommes) Weis.
Bob graduated from Marmion Military Academy in 1947 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea and Japan. In 1953, he married his loving wife, Marian (Limbrunner), with whom he'd build a beautiful life alongside their two daughters in Aurora. After 48 years of service working for the Strathmore Printing Company as a Program Analyst, Bob began a well-deserved retirement in 1994.
Renowned for his insatiable curiosity and generous spirit, Bob dedicated much of his life to countless acts of kindness, forever enriching the lives of both his family and friends. Beyond his giving nature, Bob was also celebrated for his sharp intellect and triumphs at the poker table, where his warm and playful demeanor made him a beloved competitor and friend to many.
A devout Catholic, Bob was a longtime, active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, as well as a lifetime member of the American Luxemberger Social Club.
He is survived by his two wonderful daughters, Shirley (Terry) Goodyear and Sandy (Helmut) Seifert. He leaves behind his loving grandchildren Kristy (Jason) Reams, Kevin (Nicki) Goodyear, Anna (Tim) Seifert, Heidi Seifert, Melissa (Kyle) Kennemer, nine great grandchildren, his sister, Shirley (Edmund) Kurth, and his brother, Herbert (Peggy) Weis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his brother, William Weis, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 10:00 AM; Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate. Interment will be private.
