Robert J. Salerno, 82, of Sugar Grove, IL passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Journey Care in Barrington, IL. He was born December 28, 1938 in Aurora, IL.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen "Kathy" Salerno of Sugar Grove, IL; his three children Michelle (James Sanders) Salerno of Aurora, IL, Robert Salerno, Jr. of Aurora, IL, and Brian (Jennifer) Salerno of Hinsdale, IL; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; his sister-in-law Jo Anne Salerno of Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son John "Jack" Salerno; his parents Helen and Jack Salerno; his brother Anthony F. Salerno; his sister Marilyn E. (George) Spieler; and his niece Beth Spieler.
A memorial Mass will be held on Monday, October 25, at 11:00am at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Sugar Grove with burial at Sugar Grove Cemetery. A memorial visitation will be held Monday morning at St. Katharine Drexel Church from 9:00am until the funeral hour at 11:00am. Over the past 12 years, Bob was a passionate advocate of St. Katherine Catholic Church, having served on the first capital campaign.
