Robert J. "Bob" McCormick, 82, of Aurora, passed away Monday, September 9, 2024 at Northwestern Medical Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL. He was born October 29, 1941 in Oak Park, IL.
Robert/Bob/Mac was a loving husband and father who was blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a hardworking, loving, honest man of faith. He served in the United States Army. After the Army he provided well for his family working for local beer (Old Style) distributors. He enjoyed years of retirement sharing his love and occasional bad joke.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Hafey McCormick; two sons Mark (Julie) McCormick and Jeff (Jeni) McCormick; his daughter Jennifer McCormick (Jan) Murzyn; seven grandchildren Ashley (Matt) McCormick Gabrielson, Bradley (Cierra) McCormick, Kyle McCormick, Connor McCormick, McCormick Murzyn, Macy Murzyn, and Maura Murzyn; three great grandchildren Griffin, Easton, and Colton Gabrielson; 12 brothers and sisters Anne Blatner, Brendan McCormick, Kay Muir, Irene Franklin, Mary Jane McCormick, Ellen Christiansen, Mike McCormick, Julie McCormick, Danny McCormick, Frank McCormick, Larry McCormick, and Joni Raimondo; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Maggie Murzyn; his parents Irene and William P. McCormick; and two brothers Joseph and Kevin McCormick.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 10:00am at Annunciation Church. Fr. Charles Reichenbacher, OSB will officiate. Interment will be private.
