Obituary

Richard M. Ederati, 90, of Oswego arrived at the Pearly Gates on Friday, September 24th 2021.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie of Oswego, his children Cindy Ray of Big Rock, Brian and Mark Ederati of North Aurora, Alex Holden (Mark) of Worthington, MN, and Gary Sorem of Oswego. Eight grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family member Jan Olson and was Godfather of Eddie Perez.
He was preceded in death by his Father – Ernest Ederati, Mother – Adelaide Ederati, Brothers – Eugene Ederati and Albert Ederati, Mary, first wife and mother of his first four children and Lori Milovich, daughter.
He graduated from Marmion Military Academy in 1949 of which he was very proud and served in the Air Force in San Antonio, Texas. He worked for Caterpillar for over 35 years, primarily as Design Engineer. As an adult, he studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago where he used his artistic talents to become proficient in pen and ink and scratch board art.
After retirement, he kept active volunteering with Bonnie as a Hospice support volunteer. He also volunteered at Hesed House and actively participated in M.S. walks in support of the M.S. Foundation.
Friends and family would joke that he loved his dogs more than his wife and kids, but he blessed all of them with his love and support. Thank you to all his "Honeys" at Alden Courts who cared for him with love and compassion.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Church in Aurora. Cremation will follow with Inurnment of cremains at a later date at Mt Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, September 27, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois. 630-631-5500.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic protocols, social distancing and face masks are required for those in attendance.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Hesed House, any animal welfare organization, the M.S. Foundation and the Alzheimer's Association.
