Obituary

Richard "Dick" Amoni passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020. He was born on October 5, 1927 in Aurora, IL. Dick was the youngest child of Theresa (Ferrario) and John Amoni.
Dick graduated from West Aurora High School, class of 1945 and was inducted into the U.S. Army. He served with the military police at Army Ground Force Headquarters in Fort Monroe, Virginia. He was employed at Englewood Electrical Supply Co for 32 years as a salesman and branch manager. Later, he worked in sales for Crescent Electric for 8 years.
Dick and his wife Kathy played many rounds of golf at local courses and golf resorts around the U.S. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years Kathy; 2 sons Larry (Lynn) and Steve Amoni; 2 grandchildren Timothy and Steven Amoni; 3 stepsons Robert (Sonia) Clayton, Michael Clayton, Joseph (Shelly) Clayton; his stepdaughter Patricia (Steve) O'Connor; his step-grandchildren Brian (Erin), Alyssa, and Nina Clayton, Mitch, Reed, Kenton, and Lucy Clayton, and Michael O'Connor; step-great grandson Parker Clayton.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 33 years, Shirley (Fillipo) Amoni; his parents; his brothers and sisters Edward Amoni, Angelena Clark, Helen Lindstrom, Anita Banbury Merrill; brothers-in-law Robert Clark, Thomas Banbury, Dr. Marriner Merrill and Harold Lindstrom; his sister-in-law Mary Amoni, and his niece Janet Amoni.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 10:00am at Holy Angels Church. Fr. Dean Smith will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be private at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, 630-631-5500. Out of respect for the health and safety of friends and family, a celebration of Dick's life will take place when the pandemic restrictions have been lifted.
