Petra Rosa, 78, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday December 13, 2022 at her home. She was born January 17, 1944 in Cayey, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Juan and Rosa (Gonzalez) Sosa. Petra moved to Aurora in 1962. She married Ismael Rosa, Sr. in June 1964 at St. Peter's Church in Montgomery. He preceded her in death in 2016.
Petra was a long time parishioner at St. Mary's Church in Aurora. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her three daughters, Angelina Rosa, Milagros Rosa, and Maria Rosa all of Aurora; her two sons Ismael Rosa, Jr. of Aurora and Juan C. (Jerry) Rosa of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren Aaron Rosa, Jazmin Ramirez, Arica Rosa and Andrew Rosa; and her 5 great-grandsons.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Aurora with the Rev. Timothy Piasecki, officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Aurora.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, IL 60506. 630-631-5500.
