Peter C. Nielsen Jr., 68, of Montgomery, Illinois passed away at home surrounded by family on Dec. 23. Born in Clinton, Iowa, he spent most his life living in the Aurora area and graduated from West Aurora High School in 1973. He was resilient in battling cancer and in life, confronting challenges with a quiet strength and few if any complaints. He loved to fish, bowl, play games and share stories of those activities with friends and family. A passionate fan of the Blackhawks and Cubs, he chose to be buried in his Kris Bryant jersey. He could be occasionally stubborn, but loved his family, especially Marilyn, his wife of 44 years. He also took a deep interest in the lives of his children and grandchildren. In addition to Marilyn, Peter is survived by his mother, Darlene Nielsen (Ron Lorenz); siblings Angie (Joseph) Muschong, Brian (Lisa) Nielsen, and Karen (Michael) McCormack; children Christopher, Coral (Robert) Sager, Curtis (Melissa) Nielsen, and Carly (Arthur) Thomas; and many grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Peter, paternal grandparents, Karl and Coral, and maternal grandmother, Mary.
