Patricia M. Pedi, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Sugar Grove. She was born on January 30, 1935, in Chicago, IL.

From the moment she was born and was left on the steps of St. Vincent's Church, God had His plan laid out for her. She grew up with her loving, Irish family, the Clearys. She went to Trinity High School in River Forest and upon graduation, worked as an executive secretary for Borg Warner. She continued with her management skills at Mercy Center Hospital's Gift Shop where she was a volunteer for many years. She also organized and volunteered on St. Matthew's Council of Catholic Women, St. Joseph's Day, and countless St. Rita's PTA events where she was always in charge of the books. She was active in whatever Catholic Church she was a parishioner and had a special devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary.

Pat loved to roller skate, golf, play the organ, dance the jitterbug, play volleyball, go to the casino and bowl. The Bowlers Club in Forest Park was another plan God had for Pat, as that is where she met her husband, the love of her life, Roy Pedi from Forest Park. Patricia's top priority was taking care of her family, from all the celebrations she cooked feasts for to cheering on all of her grandchildren in all of their sports and theater events. Nana was always the loudest and greatest fan. Her pastimes of playing golf, getting a hole- in- one, and her vacations to Cocoa Beach, Mesa, Arizona and Naples, Florida, were her frequent passions in retirement. Pat traveled the world from Spain to Italy, from Egypt to Germany, but her favorite place was always, Ireland.

Throughout their 68 years of marriage, the extraordinary relationship between Pat and Roy was one of true love that never faded. They were united in marriage on June 2, 1956 at St. Simeon Church in Bellwood, Illinois, and raised four beautiful daughters, who were her most prized gifts from God; Deborah Pedi of Sugar Grove, Beverly (Jim) Crupi of Mesa, AZ, Laura (Joseph) Ruddy of Batavia, IL and Kimberly (Pedi) Kane (Mark Sorrentino) of Naugatuck, CT.
Patricia's love for her children flowed right into all of her beautiful grandchildren: Jimmy (Rachel) Crupi and Toni (John) Larson, Joey Ruddy (Tim Leon), Jake Ruddy (Katherine Witte), Josh Ruddy, John Ruddy (Allison Hippen) and Jude Ruddy, Riley Kane, Will Kane and Emily Sorrentino; and three great grand-children, Jimmy, Tommy and Anthony Crupi, and by her three 'grand-doggies' Tobey, Jewels and Wesley always showered Patricia with love and admiration.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law, John (Roberta) Pedi, and several nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, James and Margaret (Kenny) Cleary, her mother & father-in-law Phillip and Mary Pedi, her three brothers Kevin, James "Bud" (Edna) and Timothy (Joan) Cleary; her sister Kathleen "Kay" (Bud) Kenney; three brothers-in-law, Fr. Mario Pedi, O.S.B., Salvadore Pedi and Phil Pedi and by her sister-in-law, Marianne and George Wohn (and first husband, Dick Foster).

Funeral mass will be offered by Fr. Michael Burrows, O.S.B. on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 9:30 am at Marmion Abbey Church, 850 Butterfield Rd, Aurora, IL. 60502.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 1:00pm until 6:00pm at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, IL. 60506 where there will be a liturgical wake service at 4:00pm. Visitation will also be at Marmion Abbey Church on Monday morning from 9:00am until the funeral hour at 9:30am.

Interment will be in Marywood Cemetery.
