Norbert C. Feltes, 90, of Aurora, Illinois passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Jennings Terrace. He was born June 24, 1933 in Aurora, Illinois.
Norb attended Holy Angels Church and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He was a proud United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He was raised in the Marywood section of Aurora where he attended Annunciation Church and graduated from Annunciation Grade School and Marmion Military Academy. He had a long and satisfying career with the Federal Aviation Administration retiring after thirty-four years of service. During his time with the FAA he received many special achievement awards.
Norb was known as the Feltes family historian and enjoyed genealogy, and could provide names and dates in a moment's notice for any family member. He enjoyed staying in touch with his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed spending many happy times with friends playing bridge and was a member of the Holy Angels Bridge group and the Entre Nous bridge group. He was happy to have the opportunity to travel overseas to Germany, Italy and Luxembourg. He was a volunteer at the Aurora Historical Society and the Holy Angels Food Pantry.
When Norb recently turned 90 the family celebrated with an open house. Norb always said that he had "Lived a good life".
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Judith (Maxson) Feltes; two children, Brian Feltes, Laura Rudow; his granddaughter, Leigh Ann Rudow; a sister-in-law, Janice Feltes; a brother-in-law, Russ Kinney; and those many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Loretta (Brummel) Feltes; eight siblings, Robert Feltes, Raymond Feltes, Rosalie Christensen, Clarence Reines, Charlene Nelson, Charles Feltes, Betty Kinney, and his twin brother, Wilbert Feltes.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 25, 2023 at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Holy Angels Church at 10:00 AM; Fr. Dean Smith will officiate with interment at Marywood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois 60506.
