Naomi (Williams) Mouis, known affectionately as “Penny,” passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life marked by family, friendship, and a lifelong love of sports, the outdoors, and adventure.

Penny was a graduate of Mt. Ayr High School in Indiana, Class of 1956. Her early years were shaped by her strong connection to agriculture and rural life. As a young girl, she was very active in 4-H, showing a grand champion steer. In 1959, Penny was selected by the State of Indiana to represent Indiana youth in the International Farm Youth Exchange Program. Through the program she spent six months living with ten farm families in Ireland. The experience had a lasting impact on her, and she remained in contact with many of those families throughout her life.

Penny moved to Aurora, Illinois, in 1963, where she met her husband John Mouis and were married in 1966 and spent many happy years together.

Penny had a long and successful career in banking. She worked at Aurora National Bank from 1963 to 1970, and then spent more than two decades with the Bank of North Aurora (later Old Second National Bank), where she pursued additional education through banking schools, including the Illinois Bankers School and ultimately served as a vice president. She ended her banking career with Merchants Bank, and subsequently spent 15 years working for LifeTouch Studios in North Aurora.

Outside of work, Penny loved sports. As a young woman, she played first base on a championship softball team, a reflection of the competitive spirit and enthusiasm that stayed with her throughout her life.

Penny also loved fishing and the outdoors. She convinced John to take her fishing on their honeymoon—and the two continued to go fishing “up north” for many years afterward. She also loved road trips, particularly out west, driving around the country to visit friends and family.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Mouis, a brother and two sisters, including her twin Ramona Schiefelbein. She is survived by her siblings Charlotte Sennett of Aurora, Colorado and Joseph Williams of Crawfordsville, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews.

Those who knew Penny will remember her for her energy and determination. Her life was one of friendship, adventure, and a genuine love of people. She will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 10:00AM at Daleiden Mortuary, with interment following at Marywood Cemetery.
