Nancy Ann Gladis' Obituary
Nancy Ann Gladis nee Volkman, 57, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. She was born on November 11, 1962.
Nancy was deeply devoted to her family and friends and always had a soft spot for children. She was a member of St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church in Aurora, IL. Nancy enjoyed watching the Cubs, trips to Disney, and never missed an opportunity to take a picture. She was a dedicated Radiology Technician at Northwestern Medicine and, recently, a Mammographer at the Northwestern Breast Imagining Center in Dekalb.
She is survived by her beloved husband, George Gladis; three loving children, Michael Gladis, Ashley (Scott) Reher, Dr. Amy Gladis, DPT; her devoted mother, Dee (the late Gordon) Volkman; her brother, Jeffrey (the late Geralyn) Volkman; two sisters-in-law, Mary Sue Gladis, Pres. Eileen (the late Fr. David) Sedor; her mother-in-law of Joyce (the late George) Gladis; several aunts, uncles and cousins; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM with a Trisagion Service 4:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois 60506. (630) 631-5500. Due to Covid-19 pandemic protocols, non-family visitors are asked to pay their respects to the family for only a few minutes and exit the funeral home in a timely fashion. Social distancing and face masks are required for those in attendance.
In State viewing will be held Monday, August 24, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 10:30 AM at St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church 1855 5th Avenue Aurora, IL 60504.
Funeral Services be held Monday, August 24, 2020 at 10:30 AM at St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church followed by interment at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church or the Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital Breast Center through the Northwestern Memorial Foundation (2475 Bethany Rd. Dekalb, IL) in Nancy's name would be appreciated.
