Obituary

Mildred (Millen) Regnier LaFleur died peacefully at Tabor Hills Healthcare Facility, Naperville, Illinois on March 18, 2024 at the age of 102.
She was born in Aurora on December 20, 1921 to Michael and Elizabeth (Sibenaller) Millen.
She graduated from Madonna High School with the class of 1939.
She married James E. Regnier in 1942, and following his death in 1978 married Howard LaFleur in1989.
When her children were young, Mildred was very active in St. Joseph Parish and school activities as well as the Marmion Military Academy Mothers Club when her sons were students there.
She was trained in secretarial sciences at Madonna, and until her retirement worked for several years in the offices of the Visiting Nurses Association of Aurora where she made many lifelong friends.
Mildred was an excellent athlete enjoying tennis and participating in bowling and golf leagues well into her later years.
She was most of all a loving grandmother and great grandmother always remembering birthdays and special events.
Mildred is survived by her sons Jim (Linda) of Lakeside, Montana, and Peter (Jane) of Aurora and her sister, Marilyn Millen of Montgomery. Also, step children Robert LaFleur, Mary (Harry) Brunner and Carol (John) Cyr.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kristin DiPaolo, Annie Regnier, Katie Regnier, Patrick Regnier, Anne Arroyo, Jim Regnier and Mary Ellen Cheeseman.
Also, 10 step grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands James Regnier and Howard LaFleur, and her brothers Ralph (Virginia) Millen and Lawrence (Charlotte) Millen.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers at Tabor Hill Supportive Living and Tabor Hills Health Care facility.
Arrangements have been made by The Daleiden Mortuary.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 722 N. High St., Aurora at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 23rd. Visitation will be held in the narthex of the church preceding the funeral beginning at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations for masses in Mildred's memory may be made to Marmion Abbey, 850 Butterfield Rd., Aurora, Il 60502 or St. Joseph Church.
