Michael A. Riva, 72, of Aurora, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. The son of Dominic and Lena (Russ) Riva, Michael was born on December 3, 1948 in Aurora. On May 12,1973, he married Mary (Goblet) Riva.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was a graduate of Marmion Military Academy, class of 1967. After graduating, Mike worked for Illinois Bell and retired in 1999 after thirty-three years. After he retired, he enjoyed working at a horse farm where he continued to enjoy working outside and meeting new people. Throughout his life he loved many things. He enjoyed riding and showing his horse Alex. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, Brianna and Olivia. Mike will be remembered for his big heart and he never met a person that didn't become a friend. He will be greatly missed and always deeply loved.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Riva; daughter, Laura (Ken Loos) Denges; granddaughters, Brianna and Olivia; sister, Patricia (Al) Tiegelmann; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding Mike in death are his parents, Dominic and Lena; brother-in-law, William Gatske.
Funeral services will begin Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois. 630-631-5500. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
