Matthew D. Wilkison, 33, of Chicago, went home to be with the Lord Thursday September 16, 2021 at AMITA St. Francis Hospital in Evanston. He was born in Elgin, April 29, 1988, the son of Glenn and Darlene (Delaney) Wilkison.
Matthew had attended school in the West Aurora School District. He was a Support Manager for Wal-Mart in Aurora, and then became Assistant Manager for Wal-Mart in Rock Falls, and then Chicago. He had also been an assistant Manager for Big Lots, as well as an independent driver for Lyft during the past 5 years.
Matthew was an avid video gamer, especially enjoying playing Shen-Mue and other wrestling games. He will be missed by his Chihuahua, Emmy.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; two uncles Donald Delaney and Lloyd Wilkison; his aunt Elaine Delaney.
Survivors include his parents of Aurora; his sister Ashley Wilkison of St. Charles; his niece Anailia; 2 uncles Daniel (Jennifer) Delaney and Dennis Delaney; his step-grandmother Florence Wilkison; his fiancee Jacob Martinez of Chicago, and many cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 3:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St, Aurora, Illinois 60506. 630-631-5500.
