Mary C. Russ of Aurora, IL passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Elgin, IL on November 26, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Carl V. and Frances C. (Kohoutek) Danner. She was a graduate of St. Edwards High School, Class of 1960. Mary was the wife of Bill Russ with whom she celebrated 61 years of marriage. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother who was so loved by her family. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Batavia, IL.
Mary enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinochle, shopping, growing houseplants (orchids were her favorite), and doll collecting. Mostly she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband, Bill Russ of Aurora, IL and sons Bill Russ Jr. of Avila Beach, CA, Todd Russ of Phoenix, AZ, Keith Russ and his wife Laura of Valencia, CA and daughter Dawn Kigyos and her husband Kevin of Montgomery, Il. She was adored by her 7 grandchildren: Ryan Russ, Brad Kigyos, Julia Russ (deceased), Austin Russ, Brandon Kigyos, Lauren Russ and Bryanna Kigyos.
Funeral from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 9:45AM to Holy Cross Catholic Church in Batavia at 10:30AM. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM with the Rosary recited 6:30 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, 630-631-5500.
