Mary Jane Rolfe, 97, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023 after a full life. She was born in Paris, Arkansas in 1925 and lived there until she graduated high school. She then moved to Chicago, Illinois to experience "city life." She married Donald J. Rolfe, with whom she had four children. Together, they worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their children. Her passions were gardening, sewing, quilting, and playing on the championship cornhole team at Fox Knoll Village. Mary was also a long-time parishioner of Holy Angels Church, where she was a member of the St. Anne's Society and a volunteer at the local blood bank.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, her first son, Donald J. Rolfe, Jr., and her son-in-law, Dale Timm. She is survived by her children, Dr. Linda Timm and her children Julie Timm, Ryan Timm and his spouse Todd Swoboda and their son Holden; Elizabeth and her husband David Bass and their son Michael Bass and his partner Stephanie Anderson and their children Cora and Bryson; and Donald W. Rolfe and his spouse Richard Stringer.
Visitation will be held at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 9:30am until 11:30am followed by a funeral Mass at Holy Angels Church at 12:00pm. Entombment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery following the Mass.
