Mary V. (Nickels-Kazak) Streit, 80 formerly of Aurora, died Wednesday, September 3, 2025 in Oswego, IL. She was born April 4, 1945 to Virgil N. and Dorothy (Reuland) Nickels.

She was united in marriage to Gerald J. Streit on September 10, 1994. She was an active member of St. Joseph Parish and served as a Eucharistic Minister and with the Ministers of Care to the Homebound. She was also a Charter Life Member of the Aurora Chapter of the United Ostomy Association. She worked for over twenty years at Provena Mercy Center, and then at Indian Prairie School District #204.

She is survived by her two brothers, David (Pamela) Nickles of Montgomery, IL and Bernard J (Lisa King) Nickels of Decatur, GA; three sisters, Cecilia (Darrell) Butlett of Glendale, AZ, Katherine (Jospeh J) Nickels of Edgerton, WI and Helen (Bruce) Twedt of Montgomery, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Dorothy Nickels, her husband Gerald, her son, Mark Kazak and one brother William Nickels.

Visitation will be Monday, September 8, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N Lake St, Aurora, IL 60506 630/631-5500. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 9:30 AM from The Daleiden Mortuary to St. Joseph Catholic Church for 10:00 AM Mass with Fr. Jerome Leake officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Aurora.
