In Loving Memory of Mary Beth (Oswald) Laurich
Surrounded by the love of her family, Mary Beth (Oswald) Laurich peacefully passed away on July 6, 2026, at the age of 86. Born in Boonville, Missouri, Mary Beth's life was one rooted in faith, family, and unconditional love. As a young woman, she began pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse. However, at just 19 years old, she was swept off her feet by the love of her life, Matthias Laurich, and together they built a life defined by deep devotion to one another and the family they raised. To know Mary Beth was to know a quiet strength that comes from trusting God completely. She devoted her life to caring for others, especially her family. As a stay-at-home mother, she found her greatest purpose and joy in raising her children and creating a home where everyone felt welcome. She always put the needs of those she loved before her own. Her selflessness, patience, and nurturing spirit were the foundation of her family and the greatest gifts she could have given. While her family was always her first priority, Mary Beth also worked part-time at Jake's Bagels & Deli, where she became much more than a valued employee. She built lifelong friendships with coworkers and customers alike, sharing her bright smile, caring heart, and genuine kindness with everyone who walked through the door. The friendships she formed there became an extension of her family and remained a cherished part of her life. Mary Beth's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Aurora, Illinois, for many years. One of her favorite reminders was, "FROG—Forever Rely On God" She believed that while she could love, encourage, and pray for her people, she could trust God with the rest. She is survived by her six beloved children, Matt (Sue) Laurich, Michele (Tom) Richardson, Mark (Christina) Laurich, Mike (Colleen) Laurich, Marty (Julie) Laurich, and Misty (Michael) O' Connell; her 21 cherished grandchildren, Stephen Richardson, Christina (Nick) Rounds, Nicole Richardson, Matthias (Britni) Laurich, Joseph (Samantha) Laurich, Emily Laurich, Luke Laurich (his fiancée Vivie Lee), Joshua Laurich, Noah Laurich, Anna Laurich, Samantha (JD) Ham, TJ Laurich, Andrew Laurich, Ben Laurich, Patrick Laurich, Daniel Laurich, Jack Laurich, Katie O'Connell, Michael O'Connell, Molly O'Connell, and Madelyn O'Connell; her six treasured great-grandchildren, Owen Bland, Jade Laurich, Matthias Laurich, Lena Laurich, Rose Rounds, and Bea Rounds; her brother, Bennett (Kathy) Oswald; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Matthias Laurich; her parents, Elizabeth and Henry Oswald; and her sister, Margaret Garrotto. Though we will miss her deeply, we take comfort in knowing that her legacy of love, compassion, and generosity lives on in each of us. The lessons she taught, the memories she created, and the kindness she showed will continue to guide her family for generations to come. A memorial visitation will be held on July 19, 2026 from 3:00 - 7:00pm at The Daleiden Mortuary , 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, IL 630-631-5500, www.daleidenmortuary.com . Followed by a Memorial Mass on July 20, 2026 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Aurora, IL. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of a remarkable woman whose greatest accomplishment was the love she gave so freely. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in her memory—a simple gesture that would beautifully reflect the way she lived her life.
