Mary Alice Gin, 85, of Aurora passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 23, 2023. She was born October 23, 1938 in Elgin, IL.
Mary Alice was a graduate of Hampshire High School. She then graduated from Valparaiso University where she received her bachelor's degree in social work.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for many years and attended River Valley Community Church recently. For much of her adult life, Mary Alice was very active in volunteering at many organizations to benefit children.
She is survived by her daughter Sherilyn (Phillip) Kingsbury; her son Calvin Gin; three grandchildren Jaclyn (Jason) Wright, Kerri (Sebastian) Oros, and Allison (Andrew) Nyberg; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Gin; her parents Irene (Roth) and Alfred Henning; and her twin sister, Joy Ellen, at birth.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 10:00am with a luncheon immediately following at First Presbyterian Church, 325 E. Downer Pl, Aurora, IL 60505. Pastor Jeff Moore will officiate. Interment will be private.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at First Presbyterian Church.
