Mary (Nash) Bermes, 91, of Aurora, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 at Asbury Gardens in North Aurora. She was born December 26, 1930 in Aurora, IL.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Aurora and a member of St. George Byzantine Catholic Church in Aurora. For forty four years she was a proud member of the Women of the Moose. For twenty seven years she was a dedicated servant of Mooseheart of Illinois and retired in 2005.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family as well as traveling with the Women of the Moose. She also enjoyed dancing.
She is survived by her two sons, Brian (Mabel) Bermes and David Bermes; three grandchildren, Amanda (Jonathan) Colister, Andrea (Eric) Schmittgens and Michael Bermes; three great grandchildren, Ryder and Wyatt Colister, and Leah Schmittgens; and her sister-in-law, Betty Nash; nieces and nephews, Bobbie (Dick) Soris, Barbara (Rick) Baker, Patricia Weiss, Michael (Paula) Nash, Terry (Kathy) Bermes, and Joe Bermes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Bermes; parents, Peter and Florence (Bona) Nash; siblings, Mike Nash, Jean (Ben) Grass, Florence (Herman) Rasich, Helen (George) Cinto, and Tom Nash.
Memorial service will be Friday, July 8, 2022 at St. George Byzantine Catholic Church, 720 Rural Street in Aurora, at 10:00 AM. Fr. Frederick Peterson, OSB officiating. Private inurnment will be scheduled for a later date.
Mary's family would like to thank the staff at Amita Health, Thrive Rehabilitation, and Asbury Gardens for all the care shown to her over the last few months.
