Draves, Marialyce

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, Marialyce (Mills) Draves, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at age 87. Marialyce was born on July 6, 1937, in Akron, Ohio, to James
Mills and Alice (Fiala) Mills Treve. She was the second of five children.

Marialyce along with her siblings and mother moved to Mooseheart, IL, upon the death of her father in 1942. Marialyce graduated from Mooseheart in 1955 and on May 5, 1956, she married James Draves at the House of God in Mooseheart, IL. They raised two children, Kevin and Kim.

Marialyce worked over 30 years for Western Electric, which later became Lucent Technologies in Montgomery, IL, until its closing in 1995. In her spare time, she volunteered at the
Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry and Hesed House. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, and later a member of St Peter's Catholic Church.

Marialyce is preceded in death by her husband James Draves, her parents, her sister Phyllis Ward, brothers Kenneth, James, and Richard, and her son-in-law Kevin Frieders. She is survived by her son Kevin Draves, and daughter Kim Frieders; two grandchildren, Lauren and Grant (Amy) Frieders, sisters-in-law Eileen (McKenna) Mills of Rock Falls, IL, and Nicky (Nichols) Draves of North Aurora, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St, Aurora, IL 60506, 630/631-5500. Everyone is asked to meet at Church for the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 925 Sard Ave., Aurora, Il 60506. Marialyce will be entombed next to her husband Jim at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Aurora, IL.
