Margaret Wollwert

Margaret E. Wollwert, 93, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Neighbors Next Door. She was born October 25, 1922 in Aurora, IL. Margaret was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Aurora. She was a baker at the Y.W.C.A. and worked at McKee Door Company. She was a member of Turner’s Club and Phoenix Club, both of Aurora. Margaret loved to cook and read books. When she was younger she was on a bowling league. More than anything else though, she was a devoted wife and loving mother whose pride and joy was in raising her six children. Survivors include her children, Katherine Seifrid, Jayne (Jerry) Schomer, JoAnn Ness, Sue (Edward) Birth, John (Janice) Wollwert, and James (Karen) Wollwert; grandchildren, Lisa Seifrid, Richard Seifrid, Jenny Eckles, Jerry Schomer, Thomas Ness, Nicole Ness, Elizabeth Ness, Lauren Birth, Edward Birth, John Wollwert, Joseph Wollwert, James Wollwert, and Anna Wollwert; great grandchildren, Abigail Eckles, William Eckles, Trey Seifrid, Drew Seifrid, Eva Seifrid, Leah Ferguson, Hunter Gomez, and Kayla Gomez. She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Wollwert in 1989; parents, Peter and Katherine (Plum) DeKing; sisters, Verna Heiman, Florence Aister, Rose Schwartz, and Patricia DeKing; brothers, Charles DeKing, James DeKing, LeRoy DeKing, and Peter DeKing II; and two great granddaughters, Josi and Carli Schomer. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 722 High St., Aurora, Illinois 60505.
