Margaret S. Wisdom, age 87, went home to our heavenly Father on Friday, April 9th, 2021 after several months of fighting congestive heart failure. Margaret was born on November 24, 1933 in Chicago, IL. A devoted wife and loving mother, Margaret was an active member of St. Rita of Cascia Parish for 52 years including the Liturgy Ministry, Funeral Choir and Eucharistic Ministry. She led an active prayer life and was considered a treasured friend by many.
Preceding her in death are her beloved husband of 65 years, Carl R. Wisdom, two children who died in infancy, Carl R. Jr. and Maureen T. Wisdom, her parents, Howard (Hap) and Margaret (Peg) Powell, her sister, Patricia J. Dwyer, and her grandchild Angela S. Hallett. Margaret is survived by 10 living children, five daughters and five sons, respectively: Reverend Richard C. Wisdom, Laurence P. Wisdom, David J. Wisdom, Christine M. Hallett, Carla S. Vaughan, Fr. Andrew Carl Wisdom, O.P., Martha A. North, Barbara K. Wisdom, Daniel E. Wisdom, Joanne Wisdom Brandis and spouses including Betsy A. Wisdom. She is also survived by her 6 younger siblings Richard, Terrence, Michael, Kevin and David Powell, Kathleen Plepel and spouses.
Funeral services will begin Thursday April 15, 2021 at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 AM. Fr. Andrew Wisdom, O.P. will officiate, with interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, 630-631-5500.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic protocols, non-family visitors are asked to pay their respects to the family for only a few minutes and exit the funeral home in a timely fashion. Social distancing and face masks are required for those in attendance.
