With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Margaret (Theis) Snyder who left us peacefully, on May 16, 2024, at the age of 72, with her daughter by her side. Born in Geneva, IL, on a crisp winter day, January 28, 1952, to Raymond and Anita Theis, Margaret was a true child of the Fox Valley Area. For 34 years, Margaret shared her life with her devoted husband, Leroy Snyder.
Margaret was a true farmer's daughter, with a keen appreciation for the hard work that went into cultivating the land. She had a knack for distinguishing the finest produce, loving her sweet corn so much she would eat it right off the husk. She could instantly recognize the superior taste of a Wiltse tomato over any store-bought variety. Her passion for fresh, home-grown food was a testament to her deep connection to the earth and the simple, wholesome joys it provides.
Margaret will be remembered for her generous heart, steadfast spirit, and joy in life's simple pleasures. Margaret is survived by her husband Leroy Snyder; daughter Kimberly (Mike) Gerdes and grandson Grant; son Rogan Kirkover (Tania Frankovich) and grand-daughters Eva and Macie; daughter Kristy (Justin) Sifford and grandsons Ryland and Wyatt; daughter Jackie (Eli) Owre and grandchildren Ryder, Storm, Reef, Attie and Atlas; sister Kyle-Marie (Jeff) Dea; brother Steve (Kathy) Theis. She also leaves behind many friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly and remember her fondly. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Anita Theis and her beloved brother, Fred Theis.
We invite you to celebrate Margaret's life on Saturday, May 25, 2024. The family will receive guests from 10:00am until 12:00pm at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, IL 60506. Following this, a lunch reception will be held from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at the Phoenix Club located at 515 Phoenix Ct., Aurora, IL 60505. This will be a time for family and friends to gather, share their beautiful memories and stories of Margaret, and find solace in each other's company.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Margaret's name to local agricultural and community organizations, ensuring that her love for the land and her community continues to thrive.
Margaret's memory will remain in the hearts of those who cherished her, gently reminding us of the splendor found in a life lived with purpose and the everlasting strength found in love and connection.
