Margaret Baumann of Aurora, Illinois and Venice, Florida passed away on June 27, 2023 in Venice at the age of 91. She was born in Aurora, Illinois on October 21, 1931 to Frederick and Katherine Dieser. Margaret was the sixth of nine children born in America after her parents emigrated from Germany during the Russian Revolution.
Margaret met the love of her life, Edward J. Baumann, and married on June 30, 1956. They spent 40 joyous years together until his passing in March of 1997. Margaret and Ed lived in Beloit, Wisconsin; Birmingham, Alabama; Columbus, Ohio; and lastly Venice, Florida. They traveled the world together and enjoyed the company of many people. Margaret was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and Godmother to many.
She was preceded in death by her beloved Edward J. Baumann, her parents Frederick and Katherine Dieser, her brother John Dieser, her sister Natalie Dieser, her sister Rose Petesch, three siblings who died before her parents emigrated to America, and many loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Margaret is survived by her siblings, Kay Kobor, Ann Brouch, Jake Dieser (her twin), Ed Dieser, and Barb Day. She is also survived by scores of nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Aurora, Illinois. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday morning at St. Joseph Church from 9:00am until the funeral hour at 10:00am.
