Margaret "Margie" Barbel, 78 of Aurora, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 at her home.

Margie was united in marriage to James "Jim" Barbel in 1970 at St. Joseph Church in Aurora and they shared 55 wonderful years together. Margie was employed for 27 years at Eagle Foods and is well-remembered by her loyal customers.

Margie was the heart of her family and she treasured being grandma to her four grandchildren. Her warm smile and joyful spirit made each family gathering memorable.

Survivors include her loving husband, James; her daughter, Andrea (Dan) Smith; her two sons, David (Liz) Barbel and Michael (Sarah) Barbel; four cherished grandchildren, Davin, Logan, Madeline and Emily; her sister Elaine Caudill; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Pauline (Miniat) Zielinski and her brother, Gerald Zielinski.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7th, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at The Daleiden Mortuary, 220 N. Lake St. Aurora, IL 60506 (630-631-5500). Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2025 at 10:00 am at The Daleiden Mortuary, with Fr. McFadden officiating. Interment will follow at Marywood Cemetery.
