Manuel Esparza Aragon, 76, of Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet, Illinois, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born on September 26, 1949, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Pedro Esparza and Soledad Aragon.

Manuel Esparza was known for his love and dedication to his family. As a grandfather, he was truly in his element. He treasured every moment with his grandchildren. Playing, teaching, and simply being present. His love for them was constant, and the memories they shared will live on forever.

Manuel retired from his work as a maintenance professional, and even in retirement, he generously shared his skills, always willing to lend a helping hand without hesitation. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love and dedication to his family were unwavering. Manuel will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maria Diega Esparza, one son Manuel (Russo) Esparza; his 6 grandchildren, Brianna (Jesus), Esperanza, Angeleeza, Manny, Sergio and Ariella; great grandchildren Jordan, Janelle, Jade, Jaxson, Za'Myra and Za'Keem; sisters Ramona Renteria (Miguel), Velia Lizalde (Manuel), and Pablo Meza (Luz Elena) many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in Death By: Parents, Pedro Esparza & Soledad Aragon; two sons, Luis Alberto Esparza and Sergio Ruben Esparza, two sisters, Ignacia Rodriguez (Jesus) and Maria Salome (Tomas).

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Daleiden Mortuary (220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, IL 60506).

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at St. Peter Church at 10:00 am, Fr. Ruben Herrera will officiate with burial at Spring Lake Cemetery.
