Magdalena Romero, 83, of Aurora, died Monday, June 14, 2021 in her home. She was born May 27, 1938, in Cidra, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Daniel and Emeteria Rivera.
Magdalena had worked for Furnace Electric in Batavia for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Rita of Cascia Church in Aurora.
She enjoyed cooking, especially Arroz Con Gandules, Pasteles, and Chicken Pot Pie. She also enjoyed playing rummy, scratch off lottery tickets, and casino gambling. But most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Magdalena was preceded in death by her sister Virginia Flores and her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years Angelo; her 4 children Angel Gonzalez of Elgin, Anna (James) Hurst and Maggie Galloway both of Aurora, and Dr. Letty (Miguel) Gonzalez-Almeida, Jr. of Riverside; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 3 brothers Manuel Lopez, Miguel Lopez, and Victor Lopez; her sister Tany Roman; many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021, at 10:00 AM at St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church in Aurora. Inurnment of cremains will follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery in Aurora.
AA Memorial Visitation will be Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois. 630-631-5500.
