Lydia Marie Hernandez, 74, of Batavia passed away at home on Sunday, December 24, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born on September 15, 1949, to Matilda Zielinski in Siret, Romania, graduated from Aurora East High School in 1969, and married Victor Hernandez, her husband of 48 years, on December 15, 1975.

As a devoted wife and mother, she dedicated her life to raising her daughter Jennifer and creating a beautiful and happy home for her family. She took pride in keeping her home absolutely immaculate, and was affectionately known and loved by many as Aunt Lee. Lydia was short and sweet, and in her spare time loved to plant flowers in her garden, go shopping, and spend time with friends. She was also an adoring Mom to all her fur-babies throughout the years, and her granddog Charlie Bear held a very special place in her heart. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband Victor Hernandez and her daughter Jennifer Hernandez, and preceded in death by her mother Matilda Zielinski, and grandmother Francisca Drimbeiu.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 10:30am until 12:30PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N Lake Street Aurora 630-631-5500. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with entombment at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Naperville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lydia's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
