Lorenza Castillo, 86, of Oswego passed away on June 14, 2020 in Georgia. The loving daughter of Trinidad and Francisca (Sanchez) Castillo, she was born on August 14, 1933 in Durango, Mexico.
She married Rodolfo Chavez in 1950 and together raised a beautiful family. She will be remembered for her baking and her love of sunflowers but mostly for being a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing her knew that she put their wants and needs ahead of her own. She was indeed loved, cherished and will be missed by many. Her loving legacy continues through her many children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Maria Guadalupe Chavez, Antelma Chavez, Imelda Chavez, Rodolfo Chavez, Jose Angel Chavez, Mario Chavez, Lorena Chavez, Noel Chavez, and Tomas Chavez; 26 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Rodolfo; children, Lupito Chavez, Maria De Los Santos Chavez, Juan Manuel Chavez, and baby twins; grandchild, Devora Chavez; parents, Francisca Sanchez and Trinidad Castillo; siblings, Abraham Castillo, Catarino Castillo, Lidia Castillo, and Isidora Castillo.
Visitation and funeral service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at The Daleiden Mortuary and will be private due to restrictions from the current pandemic. Burial will follow at Spring Lake cemetery.
