Obituary

Laura Jo Franck, 60, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2021, leaving a void in the hearts of all who knew her. Laura was perpetually young-at-heart and loved rainbows, teddy bears, Mickey Mouse, bingo, and candy. Laura brought joy and happiness to everyone she met; if you knew Laura, you loved Laura. Laura loved connecting with people-strangers and friends alike. She was a social butterfly, a wonderful conversationalist, and an avid letter-writer.
Laura died of non-COVID related causes and was preceded in death by her beloved family including her father, Nick Franck, Jr.; her mother, Elaine Franck; her four grandparents and her aunt, Ruth. She is survived by her sister Beth Triplett (Dubuque, IA); sister Amy (Amelia) Franck (Mark) Meyer (Minneapolis, MN); brother David (Judy) Franck (Sugar Grove, IL); sister Meg Franck (Boston, MA); her nieces and nephews Daniel, Rachel, and Bradley Franck and Josie and Noah Meyer; her Uncle Ron and Aunt Marilyn; and a close circle of cousins. Laura's family and friends know she was one in a million and have been touched by her kindness, compassion, and abundant expressions of love.
With her mother's selfless support and father's encouragement, and despite her differing abilities, Laura lived a more fulfilled and independent life than was predicted for her in her childhood. She is a graduate of East Aurora High School. For a little more than a decade, Laura has lived at Eden Supportive Living in North Aurora, and our family is grateful to the staff and residents at Eden for the care and friendship they showed her.
A funeral Mass will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church at 722 High Street, Aurora, IL, followed by a burial at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Aurora where she will be laid to rest with her mother, father, and Aunt Ruth. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and masks will be required. Anyone with symptoms of or exposure to COVID-19 is asked to please stay home. The family understands if you are unable to attend; please be with us in prayer.
In lieu of flowers, you may contribute in Laura's name to Hesed House in Aurora at www.hesedhouse.org . Laura had so much empathy and concern for others and would be happy for others to be shown love on her behalf.
