Kathryn H. Steil, 99, of Aurora, died Monday July 25, 2022 peacefully at home. She was born July 11, 1923 in Eola, the daughter of John and Hella (Unger) Poss.
Kathryn enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She made braided rugs and refinished antique furniture. Kathryn was also an avid garage saler.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband Ray, in 1997; twin sons Mark and John Steil in infancy; her grandson Kevin Steil; her great-grandson Timothy Steil; two brothers Arthur and Leonard Poss; three sisters Sue Walden, Gertrude Fors, and Theresa Davis.
Survivors include her son Kenneth R. (Pam) Steil of Norway, her three daughters Janice (Dave) Watson of Yorkville, Kristen (Bill) Chrnko of Naperville and Rae (Todd) Thomas of Sugar Grove; 9 grandchildren Kenneth Jr., Katie, Kristopher, Michelle, Amy, James, Daniel, Matthew and Emily; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Visitation will be on Wednesday July 27, 2022 at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N Lake St., Aurora 630-631-5500 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM, with the rosary recited at 5:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY will be Thursday July 28, 2022 at 9:30AM to St. Joseph's Church, 722 High St. in Aurora at 10:00 AM with Fr. Matthew McMorrow officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Aurora.
