Karen R. Espinosa, 85, of Aurora, IL passed away June 16, 2024, leaving a void that cannot be filled. She was born in Forestville, PA in 1938. At age 18, Karen moved to Kansas City, MO to attend flight lab training at Braniff Airlines. Karen met her husband Al while both were working at the airport. Later they moved to Aurora for Al's job with the FAA while Karen worked in a hospital as a medical biller.

Karen was a devoted and caring mother who enjoyed painting, gardening, helping others, and outings to the casino where she visited with friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mildred Halasy; dear husband Albert; infant daughter Shelley K.; and sister Donnie Hammerlee.

Survivers include her son Chris, daughter-in-law Joann, and grandson Andrew; daughter Stacey K.; sisters Vonnie Hoffman and Susan Pankus; sister-in-laws Lari Johnson, Marie Hamilton, and Luisa Hovel; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be Friday, June 21, 2024 from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY at 11:30am to Holy Angels Church at 12:00pm. Fr. Michael Lavan will officiate. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be Friday morning, June 21, 2024 from 10:00am until 11:30am at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora, 630-631-5500.
