Joy (Emerson) Hendricksen, age 75, formerly of Batavia, IL, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 11, 2021 in Aurora.
Joy was born in Aurora on January 11, 1946 to Earl and Madeline Emerson. She graduated from East Aurora High School and entered a secretarial career, spending most of her career with the Aurora law firm Dreyer, Foote, Streit, Furgason & Slocum, retiring in 2011.
Joy was an avid reader and enjoyed music and decorating her home. Her interests also included all aspects of traveling, especially the research and planning and spending time with friends and family. Joy was a long time member of Chapel Street Church in Geneva, IL and graciously served others by volunteering in the women's ministry as well as with Royal Family Kids.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth (James) Hoard, two beloved grandchildren, Quinn Buschbacher and Ethan Hoard, her sister, Avis Emerson and many nieces and nephews that she loves dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, David A Emerson and John R Emerson, and her daughter, Dara L Hendricksen.

A memorial visitation will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 4:30 PM at Ginger Creek Community Church, 2850 Ginger Woods Pkwy, Aurora, IL.
Memorial service will follow visitation at 4:30 PM at the church with Pastor Kevin Pruitt officiating.
