Jose A. Caraballo, 95, of Aurora, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Rush Copley Medical Center. Jose was born July 1, 1929, in Lares, Puerto Rico.
Jose retired as a machinist at Furnace Electric in Batavia after twenty-seven years of service. In his retirement Jose owned and maintained many properties in the Aurora area where he made many dear friends. He was a hard working handyman and enjoyed completing his own home repairs. He enjoyed playing dominoes and spending time at the horse racing track.
Jose was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather; he will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of seventy two years, Rosa (Medina) Caraballo; three children, Wilmer M. (Margarita) Caraballo, Hibram (Maria) Caraballo, Rose (Jim) Leden; six grandchildren, Adrian (Jodi) Caraballo, Evet (Rawad Ahmed) Caraballo, David (Sarah) Caraballo, Daniel Caraballo, Jason Caraballo, Michael Caraballo; fourteen great grandchildren, Krys, Israel, Nicholas, Sofia, Amir, Rebecca, Elizabeth, William, Nataile, Alyssa, Elijah, Gabriel, Isabela, Nathaniel; a great great grandson, Apollo; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Caraballo; his father, Juan Carlos Alicea; one great great grandchild, Angelo; ten siblings.
Jose's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staffs at Advocate Home Health Care and Rush Copley Medical Center for the exceptional care he received.
Funeral service will be Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY; Fr. Cesar Rodriguez will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street Aurora, IL 60506, 630-631-5500.
