John Joseph Saeli, 92, passed away peacefully and joyfully on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 27, 1932 in Rochester, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife Maria Saeli; two daughters Teresa (Rafal) Stawiarski and Anna (Przemyslaw) Wisniewski; 8 grandchildren Sara, Nell, Maximilian, Angelica and Klara, Zuzanna, Naomi, and Lily; his sister Agnes S. Anderson; his niece Maria (Mark) Radziszewski; and two grandnephews Marcel and Michael.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Mattie Saeli; his parents Frances (Barone) and Antonio Saeli; and a brother and two sisters Anita G. (Saeli) Weigelt, Anthony R. Saeli, and Marion Ullrich.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 11:00am at St. Mary Church in Plano, IL. Fr. Jim McCormack will officiate with interments at St. Patrick Cemetery in Bristol, IL.
Visitation for John will be at St. Mary Church in Plano, IL Thursday morning from 10:15am until the funeral hour at 11:00am.
