Obituary

John Arthur Richmond, 86, left this world peacefully on December 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

John (Jack) Richmond was born on June 16, 1939 in Aurora, Illinois, the son of Edward Richmond and Margaret Millim Richmond. He grew up in Aurora, where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep love for his family. After graduating from Marmion Military Academy in Aurora, Illinois, Jack worked at Kroger. He went on to pursue a career in law enforcement with the Aurora Police Department in October 1970. He received numerous commendations and awards including NRA's Police Sharpshooter and Police Marksmanship Expert. He was promoted to Sergeant in November 1978. It was a great honor for him to serve the community for over 21 years, retiring in November of 1991.

A loving husband to Nancy, Jack was a pillar of strength and support for his family. He was a devoted father, always there to offer guidance, love, and a helping hand.

Jack was a role model and an idol to everyone he met. He never met a stranger. He loved summers on the water in his boat, teaching family and friends to waterski, kneeboard and wakeboard. He was an avid football fan, loved classic cars and watching game shows and Chicago PD on TV. He also enjoyed listening to various genres of music on his computer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Jordan Richmond; his children and stepchildren, Greg Richmond, Lorilyn Foster, Randall Richmond, Karen (John) West, Cheryl (Alan) Silva, Sarah (Michael) Bauer, Bradley (Jamie) Vonhoff; grandchildren, Mark (Jessie) Michelini, Nathan Michelini, Brandon Foster, Zachary Foster, James Richmond, Jessica Richmond, Jacob (Lyndsey) Richmond, John (Yosselin) Barney, Mikayla Barney, Hannah Silva, Jayden Bauer, Cameron Bauer; several cherished great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Margaret (Millim) Richmond; his sister and brother-in-law, Bessie Ann and Edgar Lee Cobb; and grandson Justin Foster.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Marilyn and Katelyn from Angels Grace Hospice for the amazing love and care they gave to him.
